1. Find a Copy of Certificate of Title for Your Property

STEP 1

Open www.land.vic.gov.au

STEP 2

Go to the Table on the right side of the page

Click on ‘Titles, Property Certificates and Crown Land Status’ box

STEP 3

Opens the General Information Page

Go the the Table on the left upper side of this page

Click on ‘Titles and Property Certificates’ box

STEP 4

Opens Landata Service Page

Click on ‘Register’ box
Must register in order for information to be returned

STEP 5

Opens the Personal Information Page

Complete the personal information and property address details

Click ‘Next’ box at bottom right side of this page

STEP 6

Opens 1. Specify Property Page

Go to the table on the left upper side of this page

Click on ‘Street Address’ box

STEP 7

Opens Street Address Information Page

Complete subject property information

Click ‘Next’ box at bottom right side of this page

STEP 8

Opens 2. Confirm Property Page

Check that the property information shown is correct

Click ‘Confirm These Property Details Next’ box at bottom right side of this page

STEP 9

Opens 3. Select Certificates

Go the table on the left side of this page and select the type of certificate and information you require by clicking in the box next to each category

Click ‘Next’ box at bottom right side of this page

STEP 10

Opens 4. Delivery Details Page

Check the information and select delivery method

Click ‘Next’ at bottom right side of this page

STEP 11

Opens 5. Payment Details Page

Complete the payment (credit card) details

Click ‘Next’ at bottom right side of this page

STEP 12

Check and confirm the information is correct

Check the information on the receipt is correct

Click on ‘Planning Maps Online’ box

Click on ‘Address’ box at the top of the Table

Complete the Address Information boxes, located below

The Zoning of the property entered into the Address Information boxes is automatically bought up on the right side of this page after clicking ‘Search’. If not, click on the ‘Zoning’ box located centrally along the upper ribbon to this page and it will be bought up.

The Subject Property is generally highlighted with a thick red dotted line

Record the Zoning of the Subject Property as shown on the Zoning Map (example: R1Z)

Click on ‘Planning Schemes Online’ box

Scroll down using the arrow along the right hand side of this page until you can see the ‘30 Zones’ Category

Click on the ‘Select Your Menu’ Arrow on the right hand side of the ’30 Zones’ Category

STEP 11

Local Council Planning Scheme Page

Scroll down using the arrow along the right side of this Table until you locate your Zone, which has the abbreviation from the Zoning Map (example: R1Z) next to the Zone Name (Residential 1)

Double Click on your Zone

STEP 12

Opens Planning Scheme Zone Extract Page

Provides the relevant Clause(s), including planning controls relating to the Zoning of your property, as an extract from the Local Council Planning Scheme

STEP 14

To view the Schedule(s) to the Zone

Click ‘Return’ Arrow at the top left corner of this page

Repeat the above process and Double Click on the relevant ‘Schedule to the Zone’ category

3. Find Planning Overlay Controls which may affect Your Property
